Isn’t technology astounding? Wednesday night’s inaugural Transatlantic Poetry on Air reading was a wonderful combination of the hi-tech and the intimate. It felt as if I was reading to Michelle Bitting and Robert Peake alone, and yet I was reading to people from both sides of the Atlantic and possibly even from all over the world. It was such a pleasure to hear Michelle read her profoundly alive, deeply affecting work — so full of vibrance and what I can only describe as thereness — and to chat with her and Robert in response to the questions posted by viewers and members of the Transatlantic Poetry community on Google+.
The technology seemed to work brilliantly until right at the end, when the feed dropped as I was in full flow about MacAdam, but it missed very little. Here, for you to watch at your leisure, is the archive video:
