Pure Golden

Golden Hour Book iiOn Friday 25th, I’ll be back at Blackwell’s to read at the launch of The Golden Hour Book ii, an anthology of poetry, prose and music (it comes with a CD) by writers and musicians who have appeared at the eponymous literary cabaret, held in The Forest Cafe. It should be a good evening. The book also includes work by Robert Alan Jamieson, Alan Gillis, Kona Macphee, Kapka Kassabova, Ryan Van Winkle and Claire Askew among others. I don’t know who else is reading on the night, but I guess Robert Alan and Ryan will be. Event details are available on the Blackwell’s site and on Facebook.

I have to say, I’m impressed with how Blackwell’s in Edinburgh is supporting contemporary writing through its events programme. Blackwell’s Writers at the Fringe was a good reading series; books that otherwise would only have seen the shelves of the shop in single copies were prominently displayed in the window and at the entrance; and the space they use is good. I wish more of the bigger bookshops would be so dynamic!
